Slave trade is not happening in Libya alone. Same crime is being committed in Nigeria.
Are you aware that Nigerians are sold to some farmers in Ondo, Ogun and other states, while they are made to farm out their lives?
Here is how these criminals perpetrate the act:
Trafficking agents travel to various local governments in the country.
Cajole some young lads
Take them to some deep forests in the west to engage in farming.
Some gain their freedom after 3years or 5years.
But the agents collect their money and run away while many of the victims die.
The ones who are lucky endure and work out their lives just to gain their freedom.
This is another heinous form of slavery. Let’s join hands to #EndHumanTrafficking.
A great way of doing this is sharing details about human trafficking around you.
Recently, renowned multiple-awarding winning journalist, Mr. Deji Bademosi had MIAHWRA’s Executive Director, Ms. Tobore Ovuorie as a guest on his TV show- Deji 360.
They discussed the 26 Nigerian girls who were last week found dead on the sea of Italy.
Along side Ms. Ovuorie’s fellow anti-human trafficking advocate, Mr. Osita Osemene, they highlighted and explained how to tackle this evil trade which is enveloping Nigeria.
